Good design is not one thing. It’s not a superficial thing, where it’s all about how good something looks. It’s a combination of different qualities. It includes what the item does, what it looks like and how it feels.
But the other senses such as smell and taste shouldn’t be overlooked as with some items, these qualities can be added into the mix, But the bottom line is that an item cannot be considered well designed if it doesn't do something useful.
